With a capacity of 68000 the new Green Point stadium is an architectural feat with wave-like lines and a glass panel roof. But probably its most impressive feature is its location; set against the backdrop o f Table Mountain on Cape Town's western seaboard.

The new Green Point Stadium has been specially designed to reduce the impact of the notoriously strong Cape Town winds. The translucent roof will let through light on sunny days , while the facade is covered with a stretched fibre-glass mesh that plays with the natural light.
